Affordable Housing

The Coalition's member agencies manage several programs designed to help increase the number of affordable housing units in Lake County and help low and moderate income homeowners maintain their homes.  For example:
  • Through the Neighborhood Stabilization Program, the City of Mentor purchased several homes abandoned because of foreclosures and renovated them to meet the building codes of the city.  These homes, now safe and sanitary, are for sale to low and moderate income families.  The flyer describing the homes and residents' income requirements is available below.
  • The Home Weatherizaton Assistance Program provides funding that can be used to make residents' homes more energy efficient and thus reduce utility costs over the long term.  Locally, the program is managed by the Ashtabula County Community Action Association and includes income eligible residents in Ashtabula, Lake and Geauga counties.  The flyer providing the details is available below.
